Congrats on finishing your manuscript! I love the concept of blogging your way to publishing a book. I am a dessert blogger, so my question is do you think this can work for me too? I already have a few concepts in mind for cookbooks, but I think recipe development is key for me as opposed to writing lengthy blog posts. What are your thoughts?

I’m a massive Kindle fan. I’ve the Kindle 2.0, Kindle 3 and the latest entry level Kindle in my house. I usually wind up with the Kindle 2.0 – my sons nick the more modern ones.

Publishing ebooks on the Kindle is a great opportunity – and one which I intend to take advantage of soon. It will become a very competitive market as people realise the possibilities.

Recently Amazon purged a whole raft of PLR titles from the Kindle book store. I think that only original works will be successful in future (and rightly so in my opinion).

Most ebooks have tended to sell for anywhere between $ 17 to $ 97. I would expect a self published Amazon Kindle book to go for anything between $ 0.99 and $ 9.99. However, the opportunity to reach Amazon’s huge customer base is surely something that can’t be passed up?

And, of course, it’s not just Amazon. B&N has the same function I believe.

I didn’t get hit too badly by Panda – so I’m not making any drastic changes. Your suggestions are all good though.

Writing original, informative articles or blog posts, aimed at humans rather than search engines, is always going to be a successful strategy.

Including attractive images to make the piece more magnetic for social viewers is a great idea. On that subject – I really like your “coffee panda” at the top of the post!
